WINTER SKIN CARE TIPS
- Stay hydrated by drinking plenty of water to combat dry indoor air and keep skin hydrated from the inside out.
- Moisturize consistently using a rich, hydrating cream to protect the skin barrier and prevent moisture loss in cold, windy weather. Add nourishing Almond or Apricot oil to your shower routine.
- Use a gentle cleanser to avoid stripping natural oils from the skin, especially in the harsh winter months.
- Apply sunscreen daily, as UV rays can still damage the skin even during winter and and for the ski-ers, snow glare can intensify exposure.
- Incorporate a humidifier in indoor spaces to add moisture to the air and prevent skin from drying out.
- Exfoliate regularly to remove dead skin cells and allow moisturizers to penetrate more effectively. Get out the dry body brush!
- Protect hands and lips with hydrating balms and creams, as these areas are prone to dryness and cracking during winter.
- Avoid long, hot showers which can strip the skin of its natural oils; opt for lukewarm water and shorter shower durations instead.
- Add Hyaluronic Acid to your daily skincare regimen, to help retain moisture in the skin.
- Hit a sauna! Dry, wet, infrared sauna. Relax and allow the sauna to do work its magic.
